Heyesey   11 #2 Posted October 14, 2008 They've never, so far, actually voted in favour of independence. Even now, the SNP doesn't have an outright majority in the Scots parliament.  If and when they decide they want to go, then the rest of the Union has no moral right to stop them, any more than the Soviet Union had any right to hang on to all the countries that were part of it. Metzitzah   10 #7 Posted October 14, 2008 Independence for the Scots would be a great thing - more English taxpayers' money would then be spent on England, and there would never be a Labour government in Parliament again with the Scottish seats out of the equation.  Bring it on.
