The Last Farewell by Roger Whittaker.

 

The lyrics paint beautiful pictures, sea mists, England's green fields, fragrant islands, rainy skies and gales. It's sung in a way I can only describe as stunning; the arrangement is breathtaking. Where he sings "I will smell again the fragrance of these islands" the strings sweep in enforcing that particular line and it just moves me so much.

 

Nothing can be improved upon in this recording. From the opening French horns to the last notes of the orchestra, it's a moment of sheer, unadulterated bliss.

This is probably the most beautiful song i've ever heard i first heard it when i completed metal gear solid it was on during the game credits the singer is called "Aoife Ní Fhearraigh" even after all these years it still moves me.

The song is called the best is yet to come close your eyes and let it carry you away!
