FairyNormal   10 #21 Posted March 21, 2005 Everybody hurts......brings a lump to my throat.  Hymn to Her .. The Pretenders  I have always loved that song and chose it to be played at my best mates funeral a couple of years ago. The words were just perfect.  She will always carry on Something is lost, something is found They will keep on speaking her name Somethings change Some stay the same.  When ever I play/hear it I half cry and half smile thinking about her. Guest   #22 Posted March 21, 2005 I love a song called "Leave" by Matchbox Twenty, if you get chance listen to it, Its set me off crying more times than I can remember.  I cant listen to "good Riddance" by Green Day anymore without bursting into tears, it was played at my best friends funeral, last time I heard it was in a supermarket and i was just sat in the isle crying.  Susie xx
 Share this content via...

DanSumption   10 #24 Posted March 21, 2005 Gotta agree with Johnny Cash "Hurt" - almost every song on that album makes me cry, but that one especially.  What I can't understand is why so many people have listed Eric Clapton songs. Totally devoid of any emotional content, as far as I'm aware.  But the one which is making me cry the most at the moment isn't actually a song, it's a piece of piano music: Clair de Lune, by Debussy (there's a bastardised version of this in the current Chanel advert featuring Nicole Kidman, but it's not as heart-rending as the piano-only version). It's a piece of music which seems to be both incredibly happy and incredibly sad simultaneously: it feels like it encompasses an entire life.  The other song that always touches me also encompasses an entire life, and is one that nobody here is likely to have heard of, by a band that nobody will have heard of: Largelife by Lake of Puppies.  I'd better go now. I'm feeling sniffly already.
 Share this content via...
