I don't, I don't like them, I find that it restricts peripheral vision and hearing (if it goes over your ears). I've seen studies (not from the guardian) that suggest that motorists take less care passing helmeted cyclists and so they end up having more accidents.

On balance I'll take the less accidents, more chance of head injury rather than the other way around.

My dad is an obsessed cyclist and he and my mum ran a bike shop for many years and theyve always stressed the importance of wearing one. i get round this by not riding a bike

 

Mum always used to have a fit when she saw a kid wearing a helmet that she fitted (we lived in a small town) not wearing it correctly,eg tilted right back on their head. now i do it too!
