Northern ave shops Arbourthone

Recommended Posts

I'm talking early to mid fifties . The building , if I remember correctly , was flat roofed , had a ramp or low steps to the front entrance . I seem to recall the building being concrete , not brick , but could be very wrong on this . Would any photos exist of this building ??

I will ask my Gran - she lives on Craddock road and may know/have some pics. she is 90 now so she should be able to remember.

Try looking on google earth, I have and that is where I saw the building at the back of the vulcan which is situated on Northern Avenue, more or less right opposite craddock. Just beware google seems to think Northern Avenue is Norton. (it also thinks this about other areas).

Seems to me the building used to sit about where the pub is now . I checked our Google Earth and saw nothing familiar

Thanks

I would be really interested to know if anyone can remember Ellisons shop on East Bank Road in the 1930's- 1940's ?

Apparently the Ellisons ran a fish and chip shop next door after WW2.
