Alastair   12 #13 Posted September 8, 2008 Hey you might be onto something there. Where are the museums in Sheffield? Lets take visitors to the city as an example. These museums (if Sheffield has any) are not actually well advertised  There's the general museum at Weston Park, sadly missed now it's been turned into a pre-school creche.  There's Kelham Island mueum of metal trades, being refurbished after it was flooded. I just hope they don't kiddify it like Weston Park.  The Ruskin Museum, converted to a bar and the remnants relegated to a tiny gallery in the Millenium Galleries.  Abbeydale Industrial Hamlet - not the same since they don't have working days any more due to health and safety nazis.  Ummm? Shepherds Wheel - open every third Tuesday in February.  The Turner Museum of Glass - actually good
 Share this content via...

Bullet   10 #22 Posted September 8, 2008 Sheffields needs vibrancy, more of what the above poster said. The problem is the city centre is to small because it's more of a town centre than a city centre.
 Share this content via...
Sheffy2008 Â Â 10 #23 Posted September 8, 2008 Sheffields needs vibrancy, more of what the above poster said. The problem is the city centre is to small because it's more of a town centre than a city centre. Â Â If you'd open your London eyes you'd see Sheffield city centre is the cleanest of any you've ever been in. Â Absolutely spotless and gives a great impression when leaving the train station going up into town. Â We love the friendly, welcoming town feel, keep the crappy cold overcrowded, jammed car parks and their crime ridden shopping centres down South, thank you very much 'bullet'.
