Annoni_mouse   10 #121 Posted September 8, 2008 Can you judge someone by what they read? To a large extent, the answer is probably, yes.  For example, if you're over 14 and you read Harry Potter, you probably want your bumps feelin'. Ouija   10 #122 Posted September 8, 2008 Step forward anyone who has read Jeanette Winterson and does not find her totally pretentious, inacessible and tedious. I loved Boating for Beginners and Oranges Are Not the Only Fruit, then she got so up herself that she started churning out totally obscure unreadable stuff. As for Julian Barnes, I mean how pretentious is he? Half of his books are in French, which I happen to understand, but for non-francophiles, how annoying and elitist.  I read "Oranges" because I'd seen the film years before and thought it was quite interesting. I liked the book but found I couldn't get into any of her others.
 Share this content via...

Just a shame it's finished now.
 Share this content via...
