Greybeard   10 #688 Posted August 25, 2008 Any attempt to replace those imposing towers with another "symbol of Sheffield" will be little more than an inadequate erection which should bare the names of all those fools involved with the travesty.  In that case perhaps the council could generate some income from it by selling advertising space to Viagra ? Tavit   10 #689 Posted August 25, 2008 Got myself holed up in the local til just before blast off and then set off down the cut, dodge a few guards, fell down a man hole, covered in nettle stings finally got to my intended spot, it was amazing, better than when they blew up the other one
 Share this content via...
eurotour08 Â Â 10 #690 Posted August 25, 2008 Now im not exactly sure what their purpose was; and i guess they were iconic of Sheffield's industrail past, but that's exactly what it is-PAST! Nobodies living in the past anymore, every old object of beauty is being demolished to make way for some kind of horrific chrome statue that it supposed 'modern art'. This has happened so many times a late; that i am resolved to be indifferent to this here incident. Please send them to south.yorkshire@bbc.co.uk and you might see them on http://www.bbc.co.uk/southyorkshire  And not get paid for doing so. BBC have a very poor record when it comes to exploiting people's photography. I seem to recall at one stage, they not only grabbed your copyright, but if they altered the image or used it in a libelous way to make money for themselves, then you were still the one who took the blame if someone objected to it. Nice.
 Share this content via...
