tifftifco2 Â Â 10 #661 Posted August 24, 2008 i went and it was really strange i was there from 11.30pm and we got a good spot and then.............................. all the stupid drunken idiots came along ther was 1 girl absolutley off her nut and not in a good way either. we had a few cool people around and i had radio sheffield on and when they played final countdown i turned it right up and it made everyone laugh especially as it was been blasted from a subaru inpreza but it reLLY LIFTED PEPLES SPIRITS AS IT WAS RAINING THEN! i had a couple of people sat leaning on my car which usually i would of gone mad but thought its fine tonight especially as i had reversed it in to a post an hour earlier:o:(! loads of people were gathering nearer to us as the radio started to to the countdown so apart from the drunken fools it was a good night long but good. The event itself went so quick it was unreal and it was very sureal! I would like to say thanks to meadowhall and them keeping the toilets open because being pregnant meant i was off every 30 mins:hihi: marks and spencers must off made a bomb and all i have to say on behalf of sheffield is sorry meadowhall for the disgusting amount of litter all the idiots left you clean up after you were good enough to open up your centre and car parks for us with no charge!! a night i will always remember!! mahonia   10 #662 Posted August 24, 2008 Me and my mates, who had come up from the Boston / Peterborough area got there at 1am , knew there was going to be a big crowd as loads of people were walking towards Meadowhell along Attercliffe Common as we came in.  Im not sure of the attendance but I guess there was around 20000 people in the area at least Nice to see it was well planed as the 1hr and 45 mins to get out of the yellow car park was a pleasure  Took some photos  http://i176.photobucket.com/albums/w193/sheffieldposh/CIMG0383.jpg  http://i176.photobucket.com/albums/w193/sheffieldposh/CIMG0384.jpg  http://i176.photobucket.com/albums/w193/sheffieldposh/CIMG0386.jpg  http://i176.photobucket.com/albums/w193/sheffieldposh/CIMG0387.jpg  http://i176.photobucket.com/albums/w193/sheffieldposh/CIMG0388.jpg  http://i176.photobucket.com/albums/w193/sheffieldposh/CIMG0389.jpg  http://i176.photobucket.com/albums/w193/sheffieldposh/CIMG0398.jpg
 Share this content via...

potts   10 #667 Posted August 24, 2008 you know wot it just seems weird but i am gutted i stood on top of barrow hill i think it is and watched with me mum and we had like must have been 300 people around us.....  we had two lads sat down on the bank right next to us and they we're quite quite drunk....but nobody was causing any grief or anything the towers went bang and everyone cheered for them....the two drunk lads chanting..."she fell over" hehe  and then everyone began to pile back to there cars and block the whole road up...but you know what on any other day or time some from the same place as you would quite happily cut you up and put their middle finger up at you or give a huge blast on their horn cuz you where in they way cuz THEY wanted to go home .......  but last night was really peaceful and everyone just went home and let everyone pull out to make life easier..........not one horn was sounded as we left the hill at the side of medowhall...not one in really loads o' cars traffic  sheffield should be more like the atmosphere we all felt when them towers went down.....and if any arse makes a joke bout our land mark.....get them chinned!
