Where to buy live trout in or near sheffield

I`ve got a trout in my pond but he`s lonely. Does anyone know of a place where you can them from?

My father-in-law got me 4 from more hall. They were tiny. I`ve only got one left. Sadly he`s no longer with us so i can`t ask him.

There are plenty to be had in the Don, Loxley and Rivelin, but I believe it's illegal to take them. You could try PMing Craigmason, I think he's a keeper of fish.

Morehall is still open but you need a fly-fishing permit and you are not allowed to take trout below a certain size limit, which varies. It could vary between 8" - 12" (depending on local regulations) from tip of snout to cleft of tail.

 

I've heard of people poaching trout from the river below Morehall Reservoir and from the river above the Rivelin play area - don't get caught you could get a substantial fine.

 

You'd be better off putting Carp or Goldfish in a small pond, trout aren't likely to thrive in a small, shallow pond.

Chatsworth Farm has a tank full of them. Perhaps they'd sell you some. I know they sell some of their chickens off at the end of the summer season.

If i were you i would get them from there in the past i have purchased barbel and chub and they were top notch fish couldn't fault them i might get some trout myself
