Rehoming pets-How is life for them now

Recommended Posts

Been thinking for a while, we have a lot of rehoming of pets, and thought it would be nice to find out how the dog/cat/rabbit/snake etc are getting on in their new homes.

Most of us feel for the animal that has to be rehomed some are very genuine cases, thought it would be nice if you could share your stories.

Hi shihtzumad, I can happily report that a year on since I adopted Charlie http://i164.photobucket.com/albums/u30/katkin2/20080713_121.jpg the norwegian forest cat from xxhunniixx and 2 goldfish and a weather loach care of lotti_s and xxhunniixx, all is well here at the katkin family zoo. Charlie http://i164.photobucket.com/albums/u30/katkin2/IMGP2511.jpg has well and truly made himself at home and managed to father a litter of little wegies in the short space of time between arriving and going for the snip, but thankfully we found loving homes for 2 of his offspring and kept the wonderful Arnie. Arnie's brother Solo http://i164.photobucket.com/albums/u30/katkin2/SoloGivesArnieBearHugMay08.jpg often comes to visit and both are a pair of pillocks (but handsome with it), much like their big daft dad. Here's Charlie with girlfriend Ashia and baby Arnie last month http://i164.photobucket.com/albums/u30/katkin2/20080713_109.jpg

Meanwhile, the fish http://i164.photobucket.com/albums/u30/katkin2/IMGP2844.jpg are no trouble and seldom chew houseplants, mangle the venetian blinds or knock things over and break them, unlike the aforesaid felines.

If it wasn't for the Sheffield Pets Forum, I'm sure I'd have more money at the end of each month, a semi pristine house and less breakables - but I wouldn't change a thing and I'm glad I had the opportunity to adopt Charlie, Goldie, Gus and Larry

I took on some Gerbils from Papillon early last year. They have all since died now of old age, but lived very happily for a while before passing.

I know a few of you have homed animals from me and I would love to hear how they are doing too

Yh, i cut bits up and put them in a small dish, covered it in water and froze it. i wasn't sure how they would react to it but they decided to bite it and didn't seem too bothered that it was frozen

I have here Ellie my beloved French Lop , gained through BARC . She was very fat and needed to lose weight which she has done. She lives with us mad lot and loves being free all day and night.

I also have 8 girlie piggies from Peaches which we love very much. They are beautiful, they have shorter coats just now as its too hot for them to have full coats. I am happy with them I think they are very happy here, They get to be out from 7am andI have just got them all in now.

We have a rescue hammy that wasn't handleable but he is now .

I have husband he says he wants rehoming as there isn't enough room for him to move lol:)

I occasionally hear stories about my baby dumbo's, and how naughty they are.

I'm sad to say that two of them died in mysterious circumstances.
