Well for what its worth, I went along to have a look.

My thoughts on it are as follows.

The car park was too far from the event. (I am not disabled but do have trouble walking)

A great many of the exhibits were fairly un-spectacular, just run of the mill cars you can see anywhere.

In fact there were several cars in the car park that were more interesting thansome of the exhibits.

There were a few classic cars but not really that many.

There were NO classic commercial vehicles and only the same two buses that go to every event in the area.

There were no stalls selling quality goods, just mainly junk at inflated prices.

The walk from the car park took longer than a walk around the show.

In summary - A good way to fil in 20 minutes, but the event did not match the advertising.

I've certainly never seen any of those american muscle cars driving around anywhere, nor a lot of the cars there so I don't think run of the mill cars you see everywhere really describes it. Didn't bother with the stalls as I was there to look at the cars.

Nearer to the event would be a good start, but that surmises I would return.

 

Thank god it was free, the thought of paying out to see that rubbish would bother me.

Perhaps a better title would be "The Sheffield Festival of cars" as other types of transport were conspicuous by their absence.

I thought the event wasnt advertised verywell. They could also had some better transport vechicles

I agree, the event was not well advertised, but the advertising there WAS suggested a far bigger and better show. I now find out that there are very good reasons why owners of classic commercial vehicles and buses will NEVER attend this show. I will refrain from posting those reasons here as I can not be certain of the acuracy of them but they do seem to ring true.

I am also informed that the reason there were no stalls selling quality products is that the stall fees are far too high, (in the region of £80 for the day) and the target audience is far too generalised for a succesful day to be had from the more specialised dealers.

IN OTHER WORDS THE EVENT IS DUMBED DOWN TO THE GENERAL PUBLIC AND TRANSPORT ENTHUSIASTS ARE COMPLETELY IGNORED.

i think we should have a sheffield forum transport festival!!! Im sure between us all get some better vechicles and organise a class show

Dont forget the Meadowhall Rally on the 20th September at Meadowhall Coach Park - this date is a week later than normal so its dont clash with the Rotherham Show

I bet some of the Hot dog stalls made £80 in the first 30 seconds, I paid £8 for 2 Hotdogs and 2 tins of pop!

Sensible-Bus, you're right, you did say quality, my point is that if money can be made selling humble hotdogs and tins of pop, just imagine how much a stall selling quality products could make, also, the hotdogs were rubbish.

i found my Wedding Car or Wedding Bus.... Undecided as yet!

 

GLAD it was free though!

 

Also VERY impressed with the Sausage company next to the bar!!
