Texas   10 #194 Posted May 14, 2010 Sites that have this enabled are cluttered, IMO. (other than obviously photo sites or specialist sites). I would very much doubt that the main section will ever have this (hope not anyway).  Some other areas of the forum may benefit from this, like the knitting group, or some areas of classifieds.  I think there is a question about this in the 'Suggestions Section' where it has been answered in more depth by the Admin and Moderating team. There is currently a cry for help on the Expats section, specifically the 'National Service' thread. How would one modify the procedure described in your original post to get pictures onto that thread? I have a couple I would like to upload myself. So far I've got them on Tinypic. Don't forget you're dealing with neo geriatrics here and the brain cells are not in the same abundance of yesteryear.
 Share this content via...

Upload your pictures in there. (easy as owt that, Texas)  Then from the photo site, you should copy and paste the link to your photo   for example... on photobucket you should copy and paste this link which I have circled (badly:hihi:)..**  **EDIT: Texas, on this little picture, you need to click the one 2 above the circled one for direct links, which says 'direct link'   Simply copy and paste that 'direct link' into your post, and people can click and look. Hope that helps, if you still struggling, feel free to ask.  Edited May 16, 2010 by *_ash_*
 Share this content via...

Texas   10 #198 Posted May 16, 2010 With the new site update, we can all now post pictures directly into posts, so it now won't be necessary to put a 'link' to your photos from outside photo sites.  To post pictures directly into a post, you need to upload your pictures onto an online photo site such as Photobucket or flickr which are free to join. Upload your pictures as normal in there.  Then from the photo site, you should copy and paste the link to your photo, making sure that it is a .jpg file.*  If you copy and paste a file that starts and ends with , then it will work without any typing adjustments...  for example... on photobucket you should copy and paste this link which I have circled (badly:hihi:)..   Any files that are labeled http:// ,you have to manually type after .jpg, at the end, with no spaces, and case sensitive (it seems).  You can currently post 8 images. NOTE though, a 'smiley' is classed as 1 image.  Please use this thread to practice! It resizes your picture automatically  If you post a link and it doesn't work then one of the GL's will edit it to show where you are going wrong. So just quote your own post, and you will see the change/correction.      *so far, I believe this only accepts jpegs, will change as necessary Thanks a lot for taking the time to instruct us on the 'National Service' thread. Much appreciated.
 Share this content via...
