Who is the best Broadband ISP?

Ok I voted for plus.net, they may not be the 'best ISP' but for me they are pretty darned good. Fast service, good tech support response and not a 50p per min support phone line. Oh and it's costing me 14.99 for 2Mb broadband with no usage limts... Works for me anyway!

I'm not voting in the poll, coz different packages suit different people.

 

I like PlusNet for their customer service (although their werbsite is becoming impossible to navigate round), but my parents have just signed up to Virgin coz they DON'T have a 12 month minimum contract

I voted Blueyonder (cable).

 

People knock the tech support but I've never needed to call them as the service has always been on since I got connected in 2003.

I've never had any issues with BY tech support. Their newsgroup tech support is fantastic -- you normally get technical replies by BY staff in minutes.

Frontline Tech support at BY are hamsters (and not killer ninja ones, at that;)).

 

 

 

The main problem is that they insist on doing the script (even though you will have done the required procedure - disconnect PC, disconnect modem ......).

 

You do eventually get someone who is competant, but it takes time;).

 

 

 

Oh. And their "technicians" broke my PC when we had the cable fitted.

 

 

However, the service has always been A1:).

I have Onetel and they are great. When you ask them to do something they do it, I hardly get any outages (though maybe that is more down to BT?) and usage is uncapped

I use Telewest's unbranded Cable internet.

So I don't have Blueyonder, I have Telewest cable.

 

cheapish, reliable, combo deal.

I use to use aol for over 2ys. and i had nothing with problems with the b-band service always booting me off.

 

Now i have moved house i am now able to have blueyonder and i find it 100% better.not only is it cheaper with all the 3 for £30 but i find the conection a lot smoother,i think cable a lot better then dls anytime.
