Car overturned on park square roundabout

Nah, that's a hairdressers car.

Nice to know that half the world's armies (including the British) have been using these 'Hairdresser's cars' for the past 50 years because of their ruggedness, stability, dependability and adaptability.

And finally a personal anacdote about landrovers swaying too much with their high centre of gravity. I was on a motorway roundabout in the coventry area ten years ago when the landrover in front was tipping fuel out of it's locked filler cap onto the roadway because it was too full or tipping over too much on the bend.

That's just overfilling of the tank rather than the CoG of the vehicle.

About a decade ago Richard Branson managed to roll one of his landrovers on the motorway.

It was a Range Rover which is slightly different from a LandRover and was well known for instability at high speed.

park square has got some nasty bumps and adverse camber on it......... could easily have helped the 4x4 flip over

And the rest of the city has more potholes, lumps bumps and gashes, should we ban chelsea tractors all together?

Does that allow the Land Rover Defender to escape being dubbed a 'Chelsea Tractor' then?

As opposed to a Discovery?

What's the difference?

Not being funny BTW :)

Maybe it's all in my mind, but the discovery is for tarts :hihi: the defender is a no frills working vehicle meant for farmers etc - probably doesn't even have power steering.

To be honest, It's just an Impression I have formed over the years - I have never driven one.

If I'm wrong, I'm sure someone on here will put me right :D

I think if a Land Rover Defender sole use is for day to day driving around the streets of south yorkshire and not up on some farm then yes its classed as a chelsea tractor
