What's the difference?  Not being funny BTW  Maybe it's all in my mind, but the discovery is for tarts the defender is a no frills working vehicle meant for farmers etc - probably doesn't even have power steering.  To be honest, It's just an Impression I have formed over the years - I have never driven one.
