California Dreaming

Recommended Posts

So in California they can recall elected politicians if they are not performing well, it seems old Arnie is taking advantage of a law that gives voters the right to recall an election for state governor if the current incumbent is not upto scratch.

I think that is one rule I wouldn't mind seeing on our law books.

I guess, If we had that law the commons would be an empty place.

Couldn't see it working federally in the USA, locally it may seem a good idea. Say, the Councillors in Sheffield could get replaced if they are rubbish and be re-elected if needed. The can of worms it would open would be horrendous.

Thatcher would have been gone in the early eighties if the same law applied..................................................................hang on maybe its a good idea 8)

If anyone did try to bring this law in here, the Labour spin machine would go into overdrive, they would hide behind; the cost of fitting revolving doors to the chamber would be too expensive, and it breaches conservation laws for a listed building and world heritage sight.

Just think of the nail marks in the expensive wallpaper as they are dragged out kicking and screaming.
