I wore the 50's petticoat and I made them

Taffetta A line skirt and on the inside of the skirt were tiers of coloured net each bound by bias binding at the edge in the same colour as the net.

Bound because the net was the scratchy sort that ruined the stockings but certainly made the dress stand out

I used to make these and sell them on Ebay.

You would probably get one on there-there are links to lots of vintage

clothing shops if no-one has actually got any listed at the moment.

Go to Vintage Clothing 1950s.

Try the bridal and bridemaid hire shops, will not cost much to hire one for the day.

Depending on how much time you have and money you could order one from:

dollydagger

http://www.dollydagger.co.uk/proddetail.asp?prod=PTT3&cat=8

or Vivien of Hollyway

http://www.vivienofholloway.com//index.php?option=com_virtuemart&page=shop.browse&category_id=29&Itemid=29

although it doesn't look like they have any at the mo but you could look at their shop on ebay.
