Hi.

 

Has anyone been referred for HGV training as part of being on employment and support allowance? I've been asking at my local job centre, it's like banging my head against a brick wall.

I have two sons one 25 and one 22, both did their class1 with tal training, couldnt fault them in any way at all. Highly reccomend to anyone

30 years at it. Don't do it would be my advice, clean toilets, serve petrol or sweep the streets, get a job at B&Q. They are all better than HGV driving. Just my opinion of course.

The unpalatable truth is the deluge of foreign, mainly eastern European drivers in this country has driven down the wages of HGV driving.

 

Years ago I used to pull containers out of Felixstowe docks and rate was a pound a mile and I believe it's same nowadays
