I feel this overwhelming need to experience man's inhumanity to man.

My OH has been said it was unbelievable. I would like experience it myself, although I think the gas chambers would be quite traumatic, even after all these years. Those poor people, being told they were going for a shower. I have the guidebook somewhere, and that was enough to reduce me to tears.

i did this trip last July as i felt i needed to go, i think everyone should visit.

 

It was very surreal but an amazing experience, one which i will never forget. I'ts impossible to actually beleive it happenend and it's like walking round a Hollywood movie set, totally mind blowing.

 

I want to go back this year as there's so much to see and take in.

 

I definately reccomend the trip

I've not been to Auschwitz, but I have been to Terezienstadt.It was the most moving, terrifying place I've ever visited. The town seemed overawed by its terrible place in history and as for the concentration camp, well words fail me here. You should go, but be prepared to be shocked and distressed, I doubt that time will have sanitised things.

As I cant sleep I decided to read about these places in more detail, Im nearly in tears, I got a feeling in my gut that feels horrible.
