Renting Tips Please

Going to be renting my house out at the end of the month and i need some tips/advice please. I'v bought a book etc etc but if you have any other general do's and dont's i would be greatfull cheers!!!!!!!

get references on tennants especially from previous landlords,don't feel sorry for them if there is a problem

Dont do it and if you do don't use the Urban Letting Agency as they are a bunch of lying crookes.

 

You become legally liable for what happens to your property and the tenants. The contract is between you and the tenant, the agents have no legal responsibility.

Get legal advice. Make sure everything in the property is working properly. You can be sued as a landlord for shortcomings. Get references and adequate bond. Get a good assured shorthold tenancy agreement. Write an inventory. Be aware that evicting a tenant for any reason may cost you money and time. Protect their deposit inline with the tenancy deposit scheme. Do not take tenants at their word. Protect yourself. Don't accept DSS.
