mop head   10 #13 Posted August 20, 2011 There weren't any roof-gardens on all smaller blocks, to my knowledge, only on the biggest block, and, I think the very smallest, but, yes, the garden was locked up, and unusable by the tenants, from at least the late seventies. (A mate of mine lived adjacent, on St John's. It used to scare the dickens out of me being that high!!!) The top floors of the biggest three blocks had large balconies which went all along the fronts of the flats, The top rows were all on the one level, unlike the lower rows, which had three levels, with their accommodation going up, down, or on the level, depending on the size of the flat.  yes there were gardens on all 3 hence the name garden i lived on a top floor and high pavement was only on the little block, high pavement led on to high pavement shops and crows nest pub also lifts to the big block i no this because i lived there for 20 years and my parents still do
 Share this content via...
return   10 #14 Posted December 18, 2011 Hyde Park/Castle Court is one of the rich, enduring and beautiful histories (along with her two sisters, Park Hill and Kelvin). Can anyone tell me what it's like to live on Castle Court ? I may be moving there and it will be a return to Sheffield, where I was born. I think I'm falling for the new Hyde Park, in the best way. Do you have any pictures or know anyone that lived there. Is Derwent still standing as I’d love to go and visit. I was taken away for adoption in 1983 so I don’t have any info about the place. Thank you xx Edited December 30, 2018 by Vixen2531j Spelling error
 Share this content via...
