al_partridge   10 #27 Posted April 30, 2008 a good will gesture from me. to the 10,000 plus wendy who will be going to there first game this season as the club are desperate and letting you in on the cheap. heres how to get there.   Directions  Leave the M1 at Junction 36 and follow the A61 into Sheffield. Continue along the A61 for approximately eight miles. You will come to view the sty on your right. This is not the shortest route to the ground, but this is definitely the easiest and avoids Sheffield City Centre which is usualy full of blades. There is some street parking to be had if you arrive early, otherwise there are some unofficial car parks along the A61 that charge in the region of £3. 'There is a car park directly behind the Kop and the Wendy Club shop. It is called the pinky perky car park and is open to fans of both teams. It costs £5 for visitors'.  By Train  Sheffield Railway Station is situated in the town centre, two miles from the ground. Either get a taxi up to the ground or the bus station is a one minute walk from the railway station. Cross over at the pedestrian crossing, and avoid rolling around in the mud follow the signs. Head for the far side of the terminus. Bus no. 53 to Ecclesfield runs regularly to the ground (every ten minutes), as well as numbers 77 & 80 (every 15 minutes), the journey time is about 30 minutes. if arriving by train, by far the easiest way to get to the ground is by tram, which run every ten minutes during the day. Leaving the station on a blue tram, you can either change to a yellow one in the city centre, which takes you to Leppings Lane (right by the ground), or stay on the blue one to the sty, which is 10 minutes walk to the ground'. The journey time of the tram is around 20 minutes. on matchdays regular shuttle buses run from the road at the far side of the bus station They are marked pig fans'.  to keep in accordance with the regular supporters could you mainly remain quiet but occasionally break out into the club anthem which goes  de de de de de de de de de de de de de de de de de de de de de de de de de de de de de de de de de de de de de de de de de de de de de de de de wendy.  hope you enjoy the game and the club will look forward to seeing you again in another 10 years. or when they become desperate again.    Where did you copy and paste that from?  It's clearly not your own work, as it's been written by somebody who knows how to use capital letters. F. Sidebottom   10 #30 Posted April 30, 2008 Perhaps some of the 10,000 extra coming to Hillsborough will be some of those 'neutrals' that swelled your numbers last season by 10,000 from the season before, but have now largely deserted you this season. I like the way you've removed the away fans from your average gate last season (and I'm pretty sure that the average Premiership away following, even at your hole, would have been more than 2k and nearer 3k), but still included them in this season's average and hoped nobody would notice. Have you ever thought of going into politics?!  Whichever way you look at it, you've had a drop in your crowds, apros po achieving a number of gloryhunters. And ask yourself how many would still be coming if most of them hadn't renewed their season tickets when you were 10 points clear of relegation! Have you ever thought of going into politics?!  He may not have put his view across properly, he probably means the PL brings an extra 2,000 fans  So he still leaves the 1,000 away fans in BOTH figures of 25,500 and 28,500. Had he not, the figures would have been 24,500 and 27,500  But yes, we have received a drop in numbers coming to watch games. This could be neutrals who wanted to see PL football, this could be glory hunters who have decided not to come back. Either way it was expected we would have a loss in fanbase, but its nowhere near as many as "some" anticipated.
 Share this content via...
