Kickboxing Fight Night, Sunday 1st June 2008

Recommended Posts

Hi Everyone

Kickboxing returns once again to the

PARK AND GARDNERS SOCIAL CLUB

Cricket Inn Road sheffield.

This is the 7th event in the series. So far all of the shows have been well attended and all received excellent reviews (apart from one in which everything that could go wrong did! :hihi:)

The last one we promoted gave us a lot to live up to in terms of actual quality of fights.

This time the show will be SUNDAY Yes thats right a sunday! The 1st of June.

The show will feature between 5 and 7 fighters from AFK (if we can get them matched) and also 3 fighters from the SDF gym.

There are no plans to include any of the semi contact or karate orientated "kickboxing" clubs in sheffield at present.

AFK shows are exciting shows with the feel of "Fight club" and we want to portray kickboxing in an exciting light. Less of the "fancy packaging" and "flicky - tippy tappy" stuff we want to provide the punters with Blood ,sweat and tears, Knockouts and brutal tear ups.

The AFK fighters will do their bit as they always do wether they win/lose or draw.

The event will be featuring :

Shane Beard Vs a Selected opponent (name not available at present , sorry but watch this space) as the main event.

Supporting stars will be the Teenage sensations:

Yousif Ibrahim = Storm Force British Champion under K-1 rules who will be fighting for an ISKA amateur title under Full Contact rules (totally different rules to K-1)

6'2" KO Specialist Joe McGovan will be trying to keep up his 2-0 record undefeated

The entertaining Safa Ibrahim is matched against a credible instructor from down south who has got both Kickboxing and MMA experience (and who also won his last fight by KO)

Full fight card and further information will be available shortly.

Really think you need to get over yourself. Who are the "kickboxing" clubs you refer to? It's down to comments such as above that other Sheffield clubs show no interest in putting their fighters forward for your events. Seems to me that your shows at the Park and Gardners are purely for self gratification. I can't help but wonder when these events will only be for AFK fighters as no others would be interested. LMFAO

LOL at your comment with the "LMFAO". I personally think that "lmfao" was an expression of anger as your post was a very angry one.

The shows at the Park Gardners are mostly "private parties" for the most part.

I could not care less for clubs that turn out poorly conditioned karate practitioners pretending to be kickboxers.

They can all stick to fighting each other as far as I am bothered. I notice you hide behind what can only be described as a "trolling account". Everyone knows who i am , no one knows who you are :suspect:

I think that says it all.

RE: Only AFK fighters fighting on our shows? Well out of the 6 so far , 2 of them have been full of AFK Fighters fighting out of towners. Woops my mistake one of those was AFK fighters and Black Dragons ( a club worthy of sharing the RING yes the ring not the "Tatami" with AFK fighters).

As for Self Gratification ??? Have i rocked your cradle? RE: No other fighters interested, a GOOD Kickboxing club would put fighters out more than just twice a year . LOL!!!

Fighters fighting on our shows hail from respected Thaiboxing (yes thats right those nut cases who kick with their SHINS !!!) and MMA camps (as you know the MMA crowd are tough people with well developed stand up skills, better than a lot of "kickboxers" ) .

By all means continue fuming and foaming at the mouth. Does not really affect me. It is a pity though . (NOT)

It's not angry, more annoyed, your post/opinion however you try to sell it, is offensive. Worthy of sharing the ring with AFK fighters? Get you, no wonder you either have to put on your own shows for your fighters to compete or travel out of Sheffield. With such arrogance it's a wonder you are able to even get a ticket to any show other than your own!! Do I detect a hint of sour grapes?

Why should we want to or need to go on any other shows in sheffield? Our guys are happy to fight on my shows.

Good refereeing and judging= We have Dave Jackson (yes thats right, Mike Bispings coach , oh thats the guy from the UFC by the way :hihi:) refereeing,

Judges who score a bout well (we seldom if ever get complaints about judging not even from the out of town fighters).

The fighters feel safe knowing they are well refereed.

Fair and Correct matchmaking = None of this bull **** of matching fighters such as:

Record of 1W-3L with someone with 4W-2L.

Also none of this "lets only look after the ticket sellers". Everyone gets a fair deal wether they sell NO tickets or wether they sell 100.

Im sure you have noticed that yourself :D

ALL good kickboxing clubs should travel out of town to fight. Dont just stay in your own back yard , real fighters fight away from home too.

Also our fighters dont just fight one set of rules.

Light continuous (mainly for the novices) Full contact, Low kick, K-1 , Thaiboxing, AFK fighters have done it all.

Whatever, your attitude, ignorance and arrogance. I wish you all the best.

Attitude is a little thing that makes a big difference.

Ignorance= That is what you have brought to this thread without seeing the bigger picture. Your lack of knowledge in kickboxing (yes KICKBOXING not karate or kung fu) has been shown in your angry posts (followed by the spitting of the proverbial dummy at the end).

Arrogance= Perhaps, but being surrounded by such a lack of kickboxing knowlegde it is hard not to be :hihi:

On a serious note, i think you need to have a look at proper kickboxing and try different training methods.

Try the "dutch glove drills" or the padwork methods used by the thais. Just a bit of advice thats all.

No need to live in the 1980's were in 2008 !

:help:

Hey Farhad,

Looking forward to it!

Are the Newcastle, Scarborough, Leicester and many others coming down for it again?
