steroc   10 #110 Posted May 16, 2013 Here's a few pics my wife took. Unfortunately I was at work. She was quite lucky, got stuck in traffic trying to get there but turned out she was stuck directly under the flight path.  http://instagram.com/p/ZYCcjrIsMv/  http://instagram.com/p/ZYCQhxosMj/  http://instagram.com/p/ZYB9QPosMJ/  http://instagram.com/p/ZYBzRMosMB/
 Share this content via...

Saffy   10 #112 Posted May 16, 2013 She loved it .. thank you.  She's been interviewed by the local paper today .. they are thrilled to bits with all the anecdotes she gave them from working on the planes ... they loved her.  I knew she would be in tears at the end of the fly past . . . and weren't we lucky at Chatsworth ... 5 times ! rtbcomp   10 #113 Posted May 16, 2013 I thought it was just going to be literally a fly-past. I'm glad they did several circuits because the record button on my camera didn't work the first time - at least I'm going to blame the button!  I think the Spitfire was a little under-featured though. *_ash_* Â Â 88 #119 Posted May 16, 2013 I thought the news coverage and later programme were brilliant. Â This type of thing shouldn't be forgotten. The pilot today said that they were flying at 200 feet at their lowest, in day light. Those young pilots flew at 60 feet, IN THE DARK, and whilst being shot at. Unbelievable skill and bravery. Wallis's daughter said he never forgave himself for the 53 that didn't come back. Â I hope some young 'ens of today put their X-Boxes down for a moment and saw the footage. It could have been them had they been born earlier.
 Share this content via...
Isabelle   10 #120 Posted May 16, 2013 I've just been on the Sheffield Star website, and their article was annoying to say the least. This event has been advertised (including the road closure) for weeks. The Star makes it sound like the event was cancelled.
 Share this content via...
