rsyebor Posted April 6, 2008 Posted April 6, 2008 I HATE energy light bulbs  why? thats a little strong, surely?
foxforcefive Posted April 6, 2008 Posted April 6, 2008 I HATE energy light bulbs  What have they ever done to you to deserve that statement?
puddinburner Posted April 6, 2008 Posted April 6, 2008 The local tip? I just put em in bin, wrapped up and taped in newspaper.
Don_Kiddick Posted April 6, 2008 Posted April 6, 2008 They contain mercury & must NOT be put in the bin! Contact your council for advice, they are BAD for the environment once disposed of.
muddycoffee Posted April 6, 2008 Posted April 6, 2008 You can take them back to the retailer. Under the new WEEE regulations they have to take old ones back from customers and dispose of them in an environmentally friendly manner. If it were myself I would just put it in the dustbin. While they do contain a little dangerous material it is so small that it is insignificant.
Dave650 Posted April 6, 2008 Posted April 6, 2008 why? thats a little strong, surely? No, maybe this is 'man syndrome' but I still soley blame low energy lightbulbs for the amount of times i've fallen down the stairs, they're out to get me. We have one (a crap one) installed on our landing. Middle of the night, step out my door into the pitch as usual click the lightswitch step forward onto the stairs ...it's still dark... look back at the light switch as I fall forward "damn youu recycle bulbsss" can be heard as I tumble forwards. hmph
