Lotti Posted April 5, 2008 Posted April 5, 2008 and don't we know it (For those who don't know, previcox is a pain killer and anti inflammatory for dogs with osteo problems and arthritis) Today he has been chasing around the house like a lunatic, stealing Takara's toys (he never usually plays with toys), jumping on Takara, jumping on me... he's even tired Takara out!! And he's 10 years older than her! Not entirely sure it's such a good idea...
*Wallace* Posted April 5, 2008 Posted April 5, 2008 Awwwwwwww so glad your doggie feels better, watch out for his tum though i was anti inflamitory tabs and it did cause stomach probs, don't know if it's the same with dogs.
Lotti Posted April 5, 2008 Author Posted April 5, 2008 Hi Wallace, Yeah, we've put him on previcox because it's supposed to be gentler on the tummy than Metacam and Rimadyl which are known to give them runny tummies and Eddy already has a bit of a bad gut. I'm also moving him onto a food that's better for his gut to try and combat any tummy upset he may get from the previcox but fingers crossed it won't upset him. He does feel a heck of a lot better but I don't know how long our house will last!! I only got Eddy when he was 11 1/2 years old and this is the liveliest I've ever known him to be!
shihtzumad Posted April 5, 2008 Posted April 5, 2008 thats brilliant lottie sounds like he has got a new lease for life and like a puppy again
Lotti Posted April 5, 2008 Author Posted April 5, 2008 They've gone to bed tonight good as gold, usually Eddy shouts at Takara as she ges into bed because he worries she will lay on him and hurt her... probably a coincidence but I'm hoping being on the pain killers will be enough for him to not worry so much about her hurting him because they both adore each other really!
geckoqueen Posted April 6, 2008 Posted April 6, 2008 That's wonderful news maybe not the terrorising the house bit but you've ensured his old age is a fun and lively one. ::applause::
Lotti Posted April 6, 2008 Author Posted April 6, 2008 lol thanks Lisa, yes it's definitely lively...!
