OK, then yeah, I agree with you on that Mel, as well as cutting benefits (if in receipt), not giving top spec accomodation and as I said before maybe by giving vouchers rather than money to be used for shopping etc

yes i agree with you.

I've said it before too but there is no 'work ethic' in this group of people. There is no desire to better themselves or work and have their own money.

I dont understand that and i think ti comes down to aspriations and self worth again. This is something else that needs to be addressed at school age.

Fine! But as things stand, and are likely to stand for the foreseeable future, surely chemical sterilisation remains the most effective means of contraception.

It probably does. Has does saying NO....But that is probably harder to do.

Am I free from your chemical sterilisation plans? :):D

True. :)

I wonder how many pregnancies are cause from consuming excess alcohol?

Yep totally agree with ya, in which case we open a brand new can of worms and start going round in circles. If teenagers didn't get hold of drink, drugs etc so easily maybe pregnancies would fall

most!

In 2005, there were 39,804 conceptions by under-18s in England, a rate of 41.3 per thousand.

These figures are twice as high as in Germany, three times as high as in France and six times as high as in the Netherlands.

Hundreds more girls aged 15 or younger are getting pregnant despite a multi-million pound Government campaign.

Official statistics show that 7,464 girls under the age of 16 – some as young as 13 — fell pregnant in England in 2005, a rise of 283 on 2004. The age of consent is 16.

Nearly six in 10 ended in abortion.

The numbers translate to an increase in the rate of under-age pregnancies per 1,000 girls of four per cent, the biggest single annual increase for 10 years.

Among the under-18s, pregnancy figures rose in 2005 to 39,683 from 39,593, although the pregnancy rate for this age group fell by one per cent.

Not quiet relevant to your post. I was in receipt of EMA grant and had this grant taken away from me because I moved away from home.

Never less, it didn't stop me from bettering myself.

I believe education begins at home, bad parenting breeds bad children.

Thank you. Do you have a link to these figures? I would be interested in further reading.
