What a rediculous idea! Who is anyone else to say that someone else is "allowed" to have children.

Granted there are a lot of young mums out there but how do you know how good a mum they are? There are children in care etc and this is sad and unfortunate but put the numbers of children in care and children with their parents to comparison and there is a huge difference, showing that the majority of children are raised fine by their parents without said license.

I don't disagree that something should be brought into force to sway families away from expecting the government to pay for their ever increasing families but I'm certain that there is no living being in this world that has the right or even should have the right to dish out licenses enabling mothers to have a child.

Exactly so. What a lot of rubbish this thread is - who is any one of us to say who can and can't have children? And just how would it be enforced? Ridiculous. Cloud cuckoo land.

With the alternative being that your subsequent issues starve to death, that would be the better option, but long term contraception would be a better deal for those with the potential to earn for themselves in the future.

My bold: I think I may have missed your point here.

There is a major problem in england with underage pregnancy and teen mothers! Agree? When adopting a child there are so many checks to qualify the would be parents to make sure they are suitable to provide and care for the child! Why cant we have a license to have children, just like licenses to drive a car, own a weapon etc, these licenses prove we are capable! I know some children arent planned but what if to get child support you needed a licence? Thought?

I'd say this was a ridiculous idea but after talk of licenses for smoking and any other choices you might want to make in your life I wouldn't be suprised.... :|

I agree. I never see the male posters who usually start these type of threads wishing to undergo compulsory sterilisation....Just the poor females as usual.

LMAO What a load of codswollop!!!!!

and why might that be?? Britain had the higest rate of teenage pregancy and fastest rate of chlyamdia....increased by 25% last year

Kids dont know the first thing about sex ed. I know cos i teach it.

They dont know what sti's are and what condoms do or dont and the realities of sex and its concequences.

Educated youngesters do but these arn't the ones getting pregnant young....they go off to universtiy and have kids late 20's etc. It's the lower social classes that have kids and multiples and you cant say its not true.

So, i repeat tell which bit is codswollop!?!?

Am I right in thinking that under-age sex is against the law? If that's so, what's the most effective way of preventing unwanted pregnancies given that most teenagers seem to be gagging for it most of the time!?:gag:

you only have to watch Jeremy Kyle for a week to see the massive problem

and the question he keeps repeating...

"why dont you put something on the end of it"???

They just haven't got a clue. They are just kids trying to bring up kids, they dont know who the dads are and it's a mess

and 99% of them don't work are on benifits and dont see anything wrong with it!!!?
