Should people need a licence to have children?

I'm tempted to give it a go, but it may result in a worse society over time; it just depends on whether unsuitable parents are going to be persuaded by economic sanctions: they tend, on the whole, to be rather stupid, so they may not see the need to curtail their reproduction no matter what they are threatened with; the result being festering slums, loads of extra crime and nasty smells for those unfortunate to be downwind of Chav estates.

Certainly, I resent having to limit the size of my family because of the high level of taxation, especially when Chavs are unaffected by such considerations and breed like flies! Basically Cheeseman, I think we are doomed, because there is an insufficient number of intelligent people to take a lead on this. Society will realise, but only when it is far too late!

The only practical solution in my view is to introduce compulsory sterilisation or long-term contraception, but that will never be allowed due to the religious right-wing.

Don't think I'd have a problem with compulsory chemical sterilisation, which is reversible.

Why? Because we cannot afford to support them them, and they are polluting our gene pool!

Whom? Well, you could go for those with a proven record, and limit their breeding to just one.

So, under your proposals I would be compulsory sterilised then? :o

Does this extend to all males as well as females? I hope so, we do not want any sexual discrimination - do we? :D

Well, it's not the best solution I'm sure, but do you have a better one? Perhaps you agree with my proposal for compulsory sterilisation/contraception, or do you think that we should provide whatever these young mums need to get their little Chavlets off to a good start in life, until they are mature enough to start drawing state benefits for themselves?

I do not believe in state benefits for those people that are capable of working.

Under present circumstances I am not sure there is a perfectly suitable solution.

most definatley....and a GCSE in parenting

1.phse needs to be made compulsary in all schools and from the age of 5

Britain has the highest rate of teenage prgnancies as, as a nation it is not talked about and kids are having kids as they dont know what there sticking where and what the results are...

Holland has the lowest rates of teenage pregnancy as this is because PHSe and sex ed are taught from 5 and it is normal....it is statutory in all schools and part of everyday life.

Britain has more rules and regulations for owning a d dog and if you neglect/abuse that dog you are fined/banned form keeping another one!

Anyone can have kid and basically do what they want with it....and if it gets taken away then they can have another....it will never ever happen but there are certain people who shouldn't be allowed to reproduce and be sterilised (schedula 1 offenders, peaodphiles, murderers, chold abusers, rapists) they have forgone their right to have children in my eyes

I know my view is extreme but it's true. I know a mother who has had all 5 children removed, (extreme child abuse) and has gone on to have 3 more in prison who have all been taken away at birth and adopted....which bit of that is fair and right!? to the mother or child.

Having a child is a gift, if you mess this up you shouldnt be able to have anymore...

I was listening to the judges comment on the radio this am about broken homes preading like cancer and i agree. This county has to do something soon as society is going down the pan.

What a rediculous idea! Who is anyone else to say that someone else is "allowed" to have children.
It is ridiculous to suggest that 'fast breeders' with no other source of income should be allowed to take my hard earned money from my family to feed and clothe theirs!

Granted there are a lot of young mums out there but how do you know how good a mum they are?
The main issue for me is how they fund their reproduction! To say that society should pay for them to breed is as ridiculous as saying that society should upgrade their stolen car to a Bugatti Veyron for free! Anyway, a bad parent is one who breeds without the means to support their family by themselves!

There are children in care etc and this is sad and unfortunate but put the numbers of children in care and children with their parents to comparison and there is a huge difference, showing that the majority of children are raised fine by their parents without said license.
I disagree strongly. Get in a car and drive through a couple of sprawling Chav estates, or look at the national exam statistics! :hihi:

I don't disagree that something should be brought into force to sway families away from expecting the government to pay for their ever increasing families but I'm certain that there is no living being in this world that has the right or even should have the right to dish out licenses enabling mothers to have a child.
Society may have that right, however!

With the alternative being that your subsequent issues starve to death, that would be the better option, but long term contraception would be a better deal for those with the potential to earn for themselves in the future.
