Would you be offended if somebody accidentally misspelled your name?

Now I understand that we're becoming more and more of a PC sensitive nation of late, so like many other people are paranoid and are therefore very careful about what i say and type so I don't offend people, but just the other week I was rushing and made a typo spelling someones name, which partly kinda became a slight different pronounceation of their name. With the letters in question being next to each other on the keyboard I expained that sometimes these mistakes are inevitable and might happen, but they wouldn't accept this because this apparently this normally doesn't happen.

So would you be offended if this happened to you?

Seems like a massive over-reaction to me. My surname is misspelled and mispronounced all the time. I would have had a stress-induced coronary by now if I'd let it get to me, though the very idea of it doing so is a bit bizarre.

It seems like even more of an over-reaction if such a misspelling happens only rarely. I guess some have too little to worry about in their lives if something as simple and accidental as a typo can be a source of concern.

Some people have great difficulty in actually saying my name - it's not really hard and it only requires changing one letter from another very common name but some people still can't fathom out how to say it. I gave up caring a long time ago

My name is misspelt all the time, it gives me real rage!!!!!!!!!!! Especially when someone is replying to an email at work, THAT I SENT, so my name SPELT CORRECTLY will have shown up, not only when they received the email in their inbox, but also when they opened it up and then read the contents along with my signature at the bottom also spelt correctly. Seriously don't get why its so difficult!!!!

No, it happens all the time. Both my first and surname have many variants, and my first quite a few shortenings. It used to annoy me when I was a kid, but I got over it long ago.
