fluffystuff Posted March 30, 2008 Posted March 30, 2008 Cleethorpes is the best place for the beach, amusements and places to stay. I would guess that Grimbsy has more nightlife though

babychickens Posted March 30, 2008 Posted March 30, 2008 What about Whitby? It's altogether nicer than both of the above, and Robin Hood's bay is nearby, which is really really pretty.
alankeoy Posted March 30, 2008 Author Posted March 30, 2008 Whitby is too far aout 4 hours drive. dont wan to tire my wife. how far is distance from cleethrope to grimbsy ? so grimsby more of a market and cleethorpe more like amusemet ? if compare to blackpool and scarborough ? which is more similar ? just dont wan to disapointed her when get there thanks

I would compare Cleethorpes to Blackpool actually, but smaller & nicer. You could stay in Cleethorpes and visit both places. They are back to back.

Whitby can be done in a couple of hours or so. Scarborough is almost the sam distance as Blackpool and comparative on the amusement arcade scale.
rad Posted March 30, 2008 Posted March 30, 2008 They are essentially the same place so it doesn't matter where you stay. Grimsby is better for shopping and has the National Fishing Heritage Centre musem. Cleethorpes has the beach, the bowling alley, the boating lake and the cinema. They both have hundreds of chippies better than any in Sheffield

the_rudeboy Posted March 30, 2008 Posted March 30, 2008 As rad says it's hard to know where one finishes and the other starts. Stay in Cleethorpes tho it's much nicer Here's a Map of the two.
