Grimbsy for fresh fish(you can buy it from the docks) but Cleethorpes for the beach, and night life. They are next to each other, but I would stay in Cleethorpes.

Grimbsy and Cleethorpes are actually right next to each other. I would compare Cleethorpes to Blackpool actually, but smaller & nicer. You could stay in Cleethorpes and visit both places. They are back to back.

Where are you coming from?

Whitby can be done in a couple of hours or so.

Scarborough is almost the sam distance as Blackpool and comparative on the amusement arcade scale.

They are essentially the same place so it doesn't matter where you stay. Grimsby is better for shopping and has the National Fishing Heritage Centre musem. Cleethorpes has the beach, the bowling alley, the boating lake and the cinema. They both have hundreds of chippies better than any in Sheffield

Yes, try The Ocean Bar on the main street. A lovely restaurant with fresh fish cooked every day. Take away or eat in. Not expensive.
