Just adopted a rescue greyhound

A couple of posts ago I mentioned getting a whippet for my mum. We looked into it and they are pretty pricey and we couldn't find any rescue whippets. But then we looked into greyhounds, and there are just so many needing good homes, that we got a rescue greyhound yesterday.

She was called Fable at the rescue centre, but now she's called Roxie and so far she is doing well.

She's calm, housetrained and friendly. We like her a lot and it was best to give a rescue dog a home. There were 75 there yesterday and it's just really upsetting that they can't find homes for them all.

She's lovely!

They are such great dogs, very calm and laid back, in my limited experience. There must be someone around my neck of the woods who rehomes this breed, as there are so many about. They are all the sweetest natured, friendliest dogs you could ever hope to meet.

She looks really gorgeous, and from Tia....I would love to go up there, 75 dogs all needing homes :o I never realised that they had so many though I knew that there was a lot.

Maybe one day they will have a cat friendly for me too :)

Wow congratulations on your new pointy dog. I am so jealous but like Moonbird I need a cat and small furry friendly Grey. It is my ambition to own a Greyhound one day......one day......

You shall have to get your grey a coat and some nice warm jammies ordered from anna293 of the forum i cannot recommend them enough. Have put a link to the thread we not long had where i posted the new jammies i ordered from Anna and a link to her website further down the page http://www.sheffieldforum.co.uk/showthread.php?t=320795

I to would love a real pointy nosed dog one day, we went looking for one and got captured by a rather hairy beast with a slightly pointy nose :D
