We called in the Bankers Draft at about 5-30pm and soon after about 15 police came in (some riot squad) They closed the bar, wandered about a bit then after about 30 mins. they left. We went out about the same time and they were rounding up quite a few people in Fitzallan Square and marching them off to the station. I just don't know what it is all coming too, don't doubt the coucil tax keeps going up to pay for all this.

I hope the police act properly, I am hopful that they do most of the time however I and my friend once drove to Blackburn to watch Spurs play. After the match we needed to drive back home to Liverpool but the Police herded us to the Rail station. I spoke to several officers telling them I needed to go a different way I was told to shut-it and get in line or I would get a belt! So we got to the station, produced no train ticket then we were allowed to walk all the way back from whence we came.

Well we walked past on the way to the bus station, the trams we saw looked even more packed than normal, they definetly need to sort out some way of organising how many people are let on at a time.

One of the supertram people even had to shut one of the doors by hand cos they wouldn't shut automatically due to too many people being pressed against them.

The problem you have with Hillsborough is it's way toofr fromthe train station therefore our little friends at SYP have a bit of a problem getting away fans directly to the ground from the train station.

With Bramall Lane you don't have a problem because they can round up away supporters at the station and escort them upto the ground to avoid anything flaring up around Sheffield, but it is virtually impossble for the SYP to do police such a mass area from city centre to hillsborough.

The only thing I have seen before to try and conquer this was SYP working in conjunction with Supertram to get away fans on a tram escorted by about half a dozen police officers one day to get them all up hillsborough and out of the way before trouble flared, but this was only due to a large number of blades fans being based in pubs around the city centre, meaning a double possibility of trouble flaring up, therefore they needed to act quickly to get the away fans out ofthe city centre and up Hillsborough, however from what I heard it didn't go exactly to plan as the tram aparently came off with a bit of damage, but i guess that might be considered as a result in comparison to mass city centre brawls where there is a large possibility of innocent by-standers getting caught up in the trouble.

But anywa in my opinion, something needs to be done to combat this and make it happen on a weekly basis, I once went to west ham and what we had to do was pay a £2 charge to board a coach frm the train tation which then dumped us all at a away fan pubnear the ground which I had no problems with as I still had a pretty decent day out regardless of the fact that we weren't allowed to go for a walk around.

But thequestion is, who would be responsible for setting something like this up? Would it work because allthough we didn't have a great problem wih being rounded up and ushered into a public house, some people took offense to it?

When we went to Scunthorpe as we left the station the police pointed everybody in the direction of a “friendly” pub, the only thing they didn’t tell us was once you were in there was no leaving until buses turned up to take us to the ground.

It all seemed to work well and they even bused us back but it didn’t suit everybody especially those with kids, the older fans or the disabled yet they were all made to wait within the grounds of the pub.
