Rich Posted March 29, 2008 Posted March 29, 2008 I probably will, have done and won money on it every year for about the last 5 years. And they say gambling's a mug's game?
Clare85 Posted March 29, 2008 Posted March 29, 2008 I wanted to go but I forgot where Aintree was. Anyway, yeah I will. Had free bets last year, can't remember why!!!
Titanic99 Posted March 29, 2008 Posted March 29, 2008 Nope it's cruel, too many horses die in the race and it should be stopped! Hope Queen of the South win the Scottish Cup though!
Heyesey Posted March 29, 2008 Posted March 29, 2008 Nope it's cruel, too many horses die in the race and it should be stopped! Horses die standing quietly in fields. Should we outlaw that too?
Titanic99 Posted March 29, 2008 Posted March 29, 2008 Horses die standing quietly in fields. Should we outlaw that too? Why would you connect dying of natural causes, with dying to satisfy a want of humans!
Heyesey Posted March 29, 2008 Posted March 29, 2008 Why would you connect dying of natural causes, with dying to satisfy a want of humans! No horse ever has "died to satisfy a want of humans" in the Grand National. Try actually watching the race sometime. The horses want to run just as much as the jockeys do.

Heyesey Posted March 29, 2008 Posted March 29, 2008 If that was the case then horses would be jumping out of fields all over the country. Only if they're thoroughbred racehorses still in training. If they don't enjoy the racing, how do you explain that the vast majority of horses who lose their jockeys, still race on? Rough Quest was first past the post three years running in the Grand National. The first two of those, he had no jockey on board for the second half of the race, but carried on anyway because he wanted to win.
