To provide bus drivers with something to do.

Its to give the locals something to complain about. Got to keep them interested!

Oh come on this is Sheffield where the planners don't have a clue, you only have to look at the bottom of Granville Road where they have altered the roundabout/junction. Doesn't seem that long since they altered it. We are told to cut our carbon footprint yet are sent out of our way to get to places thus using more petrol taking longer and creating more carbon:loopy:

Seems a good idea to me, stops the bleeding idiots that used to come from the opposite direction, IE: coming from charter row and heading toward pinstone st, going straight across the junction and near as damn it running a few ped's down to get to arundle gate...

It is a bit of a pain as a bus passenger as it just makes the journey that little bit longer, not much but 1 second on a bus is torture.

That was getting to be a nasty accident site due to people not taking notice of the signs because they know better...

It will seem longer if you time from the stop line on Pinstone Street to Charter Square, but if you look at the route time, it's actually quicker, because there isn't as much traffic waiting at the signals as there was... again, it's about considering the whole network and not just isolated junctions...

There was a problem also with the anti-slip covering on the road in front of debenhams, because of the number of buses it was worn out within weeks and during wet weather buses were always slipping on it, however as I have said on many occations this stupid policy since 1971 of pedestrianzing most of Sheffield has now back fired big style and places like the top of the Moor and Fargate need to be opened up to ease bus & traffic congestion :help:
