jeremyjh1 Posted March 28, 2008 Posted March 28, 2008 Hi, I have a discovered a problem with Vista>User Accounts. When I try to load Windows Explorer it continually hangs, but only on a specific user account. I have created an admin account and 4 additional user accounts (for family members). All but one of these work fine when browsing the web. Strangely, it's the third of the 4 additional accounts that has the problem. I have tried to create further accounts and the problem exists on all of these. I can only assume that there must be some kind of max limit as to the number of user accounts that can be created. Anyone know of this problem? And anyone know of a solution? Ta
itosan Posted March 28, 2008 Posted March 28, 2008 What flavour of Vista are you running? I setup 6 user and 2 admin accounts (1 backup admin acc.) No problems encountered when switching between accounts (only 4 acc. tested) or when logging on to each single account. Vista Ult. Pre Sp1 used in the test.
jeremyjh1 Posted March 28, 2008 Author Posted March 28, 2008 Not sure what version of Vista I'm running at home (assume it's the latest with all SP's loaded - got auto updates set up). No problems with any accounts except when trying to load Explorer on later accounts. Cannot figure out why this should be - and it's driving me man

I haven't heard of account limitations on various versions but it could be? So would be helpful. Explorer? Internet Explorer or Explorer? al la XP (Windows explorer)?
Paul2412 Posted March 28, 2008 Posted March 28, 2008 I'm so not looking forward to upgrading to Vista!

Explorer? Internet Explorer or Explorer? al la XP (Windows explorer)? It is Windows Vista Home Premium. Not sure what service pack it is - the installed updates lists tons of 'security updates' and general updates. As for IE, it's version: 7.0.6000.16609. Maybe it's me, but why, in Vista, have the program elfs at MS made everything so elffin' difficult to find now????
