Grahamfff Posted March 27, 2008 Posted March 27, 2008 Have I got this right... ? I can cross Langsett Road from Holme Lane to Bradfield Road or vice versa at any time. But turning right from either Holme Lane or Bradfield Road onto Langsett Road will earn me a ticket? Thanks
cal3549 Posted March 27, 2008 Posted March 27, 2008 Yes, that's right. Not sure if you can turn right from Holme Lane onto Langsett/Infirmary after 7pm (?), but def not during the day.
igm1 Posted March 27, 2008 Posted March 27, 2008 If you turn right from Holme Lane onto Langsett Road then you will probably get a ticket. You can turn left from coming the other way from Bradfield Road onto Langsett Road. Got it?
natalie H Posted March 27, 2008 Posted March 27, 2008 I drove over it from Langsett road about a month ago which you're not supposed to do, but I genuinly didn't know. Was expected a fine but I have not received anything

Planner1 Posted March 27, 2008 Posted March 27, 2008 I drove over it from Langsett road about a month ago which you're not supposed to do, but I genuinly didn't know. Was expected a fine but I have not received anything The offences are recorded by CCTV operators, it isn't an automatic system. Inevitably some people do get away with it, you were lucky!
Meaks Posted March 27, 2008 Posted March 27, 2008 I drove over it from Langsett road about a month ago which you're not supposed to do, but I genuinly didn't know. Didn't all the signs give you a clue?
The Chavs Posted March 27, 2008 Posted March 27, 2008 Am I right in thinking that the operators "clock" people driving into a bus gate. IE/ the camera at the middlewood side of the lights looks for people coming into Hillsborough from Middlewood Road and the camera on the langset side watches for people driving into Hillsborough from Langsett Road. I dont break the rules but I was under the impression that you have to be driving through the busgate at these points to be fined. If you were driving through the langset one going out of Hillsborough you arent breaking any rules. Likewise, if you drive along Middlewood Road out of Hillsborough again you arent breaking the rules. Therefore, while it is wrong to turn right from Holme Lane up Langsett (as its a bus/tram/etc lane only) why would you get a ticket???? The operators wouldnt know where you came from when you get to the camera on Langsett Rd would they? You could be driving along the road because you had legally turned left from Bradfield Road. You may get a ticket from other means (ie/ police on road) but I cannot see how the camera system can capture this infringement.
natalie H Posted March 27, 2008 Posted March 27, 2008 Didn't all the signs give you a clue? I didn't see them as I am not familiar with the area, and in my opinion i don't think the signs are very clear!
coopster1974 Posted March 27, 2008 Posted March 27, 2008 They're not clear - yellow isn't a vibrant enough colour!!!!
