ambercake Posted March 27, 2008 Posted March 27, 2008 Hi, we are thinking about puting in a new bathroom. The shower we have at the moment is one of those traditional electric ones, and we want to change it into one of those cool and simple looking chrome ones. But the problem is that our water system is low pressure, so for the new shower to work properly which requires high water pressure, we have to either have a combi boiler put in or buy a pump and connect it to our existing hot water tank -- obviously the 2nd option is a lot cheaper and easier to do. has anyone ever installed the "pump"? what's the cost, and most importantly does it work well? thanks.

ambercake Posted March 27, 2008 Author Posted March 27, 2008 thanks Jay69, had a look at the link -- didn't realize the problem with the noise from the pump before. does anyone have 1st hand experience with those pumps? thanks.
RebeccaB Posted March 27, 2008 Posted March 27, 2008 My parents have a boostr pump connected to their shower - my Dad bought it from Screwfix.com. Can't remember how much it was, but not a huge amount. They are noisy, but it depends where you fit the pump. It never bothered me (or parents) as its only ever on when you're in the shower!! Worked really well for them, and made a rather rubbish shower good!!
