Like the pictures, always use to see the binmen on my way to work.

As anyone got pictures of Cannon Hall pub, i use to go with my mates

in the 60s and when they use to have pop groups in back room. :|

There weren't too many jazz clubs in Sheffield in the early sixties, the Cannon Hall was one of them along with the original Esquire Club and one on West Street-Mail Coach? Saddle?

Hi all,

I also used to get half an uncut loaf from Gregory's and get it filled with chips. This was in 1958, my last year of school, when I attended woodwork classes one day a week at the old chapel, which was an offshoot of Owler Lane Secondary school, on the opposite corner of Selby Road and Rushby Street. Also had broken buns and biscuits. Those were the days :)

Here's a pic taken in 1965 from Rushby Street looking up Selby Road towards Firth Park Road with Gregory's corner wall foreground right, still there on Brian's photo and seems to have been made higher, but outbuildings behind and rest of wall gone. The chapel railings are left of pic. The shop is just out of shot on the right.

On close inspection looks like a shop bay window. Seem to remember it being a chinese laundry around 1960, about 5 years before the pic., where I had my collars starched. Could I be right??
