herbiegrass   10 #1 Posted January 24, 2005 Anyone remember Apple ST, Stancer ST? they stood where Jewsons yard is on Mowbray Street, you can still see the kerb edges and cobbles. My dad and his family came from there, and he tells me many times about all the houses and streets and the people who lived in them, he moved with his mother and brothers to what was calle the Pheasant yard just a few streets away, (this was their first house as they lived with his Mothers parents on stancer street) called Cooper.  I'd like to hear from anyone who lived there as it was so long ago there will be few left. sweetdexter   10 #8 Posted May 9, 2006 Apple St used to be Orchard St. There were 4 Orchard streets so the names were changed. All except the one downtown. My G.G Grandfather came from Ireland and lived at 14 Orchard (Apple ) St in 1861. Look up Harvest Lane on 'Picture Sheffield ' it also shows Apple St 1920 &1930
 Share this content via...
