m^rk Posted March 18, 2008 Posted March 18, 2008 Has anyone Else on the Forum ever set up a Business through the Princes trust, If so could you tell me your Experience of setting up a Business through the Princes Trust. Cheers Mark
Rich Posted March 18, 2008 Posted March 18, 2008 Not set up a Business but I was sent on a PT course several years ago by some twit from the Job Centre. I enjoyed it but part of the course was to go to the Winged Fellowship in Essex for a week, looking after severely disabled pensioners, most of whom were incontinent and/or couldn't get out of bed without a 2 hour task of getting them out with a mechanical hoist! After 2 days of it I was literally on my knees begging to go home!

Alex C. Posted June 3, 2008 Posted June 3, 2008 I'm in the situation of working full time, and having a poor credit record - result is that the Princes Trust will not consider an application unless I leave my job and get jobseekers allowance. I could understand if their funding really was that limited, but of the £13 million spent on the business programme, £616,000 was spent on loans - Of the remaining money £3.6 million was spent on Prince’s Trust staff costs, £3.4 million on other direct costs, and £5 million on support costs. I'm not going onto Jobseekers, but I'm surprised that the attitude is that you're only allowed to improve your position in life if you are unemployed. (yes, sour grapes )
