Also beware changing money, only use official banks, otherwise you WILL be ripped off from the other exchange shops

 

PLEASE heed the above advice. Don't use phones at these places either - negotiate a good deal for your mobile before you go. Negotiate taxi rates before you get in one. Check out the market and haggle. Visit the old town at night - beautiful. Watch out on the crossings - drivers don't care, be really careful crossing busy roads, especially at junctions - esp. near railway station. Use the buses - regular, modern and relatively cheap. Spend at least a day travelling using the local railway to small neighbouring resorts and towns. Don't book any trips with reps, as you walk around, you'll get lots of better offers for trips, and reduced priced tickets being handed out for various attractions. Have fun, it has lots to offer for everyone.

Enjoy your holiday, Benidorm's brilliant , we go 3 times a year, its changed from the beer haven it once was ( 10 year ago ) you will have a great time in one of the safest cities in Europe.

dont get drawn in by the pea game, i love benidorm have a fab time, the beach cafe near to mcdonalds at the far end of new lavanti beach is brill, its owned by a lovely english couple and the food is fab

we went in dec and you still werent allowed to take any liquids past passport control

Pickpockets are rife. Make sure you don't leave anything on show in your handbag (zip it up or whatever).

Watch Benidorm on Telly (the one with Johnny Vegas in it), it'll give you plenty of tips

The magic hotel chain have a number of hotels throughout all parts of Benidorm, and all are linked via a free bus, so you can dine and use the facilities of other hotels.

Around this time of year up until April all of the Spanish oaps get free holidays in many of the half empty hotels (why cant the uk provide that to our oaps?), so expect a rush at mealtimes

Check with your airline, the general rule is no sharp implements or fluids (inc perfume, toothpaste, pop, water etc) in your hand luggage as these will be confiscated at passport control, once through though you are able to purchase these items in the duty free

has anyone booked through first choice holidays we have booked a trip to benidorm on the 22nd march 08 and we haven't recieved our tickets as yet they are chasing it up we are going to hotel magic rock

We have used them a few times, always had out tickets in good time (six weeks ahead). It arrives as a little booklet, you may not recogniseit as tickets. They have always been very good with us.
