Failed Dates, Why Were They Failures...

Know what Im waflling on about?

That hot date with someone you really like- you take her/him out to the cinema or for a meal or drink and at the end of the evening, or a few days after they vanish and you never see them again- or at best, you see them a few weeks later with someone else.

Why do you think it was such a let down...? Do you often think its your fault?

This thread is really for the benefit of the single people of SF, maybe you can pool your experiences and make the next date a more successful one.

For me, the only date I fluffed was back in 1978, I was 17 and SHY AS HELL!

I mean REALLY, cripplingly shy and I sat like a stuffed baboon all through the evening.

The young lady, who was SO interested at the beginning of the night, dropped me like a hot brick because of that.

Ok, your turn.

I found out a few years ago that when I was a teenager my dad used to hide down the road behind a hedge to leap out on my young beau (after he'd walked me home and dropped me off), grab him by the front of his shirt and yell (very impressively, bearing in mind that my dad's even taller than me):

WHAT HAVE YOU BEEN DOING TO MY DAUGHTER????

I spent years thinking that the lack of second dates was down to something I'd done.
