Jon Posted March 15, 2008 Posted March 15, 2008 what a load a crap we are not all under 15 play something good. We need a Classic Kerrang Channel that plays Sabbath, Purple, Yes, Rush etc
Bramwen7 Posted March 15, 2008 Posted March 15, 2008 Yeah good idea Jon. Scuzz I think is better than Kerrang for the most part, for the kind of music I like anyhow.

Beakerzoid Posted March 15, 2008 Posted March 15, 2008 I was just commenting to my sister today that rock in general isn't what it used to be. Too many pretty boys with shares in hair-gel. What happened to the good old days when rock was filled with sweaty greasers with bad hygiene and denim?
ami_j Posted March 16, 2008 Posted March 16, 2008 doesnt kerrang play what the viewers are phoning in for? yes agreed more choice would be nice but its just appealing to the majority who phone up and request

What happened to the good old days when rock was filled with sweaty greasers with bad hygiene and denim? I'd have to disagree there. There's loads of great rock and metal bands around, they just don't get much media coverage. I've been a rocker since 1978 and the scene is better now than it has been in years. I agree about Kerrang! though- both the channel and the magazine are poor. I wish Terrorizer had a channel!

A lot of the day is 'themed' (3 'hits' from this artist, 3 from that etc. - or 1 hour on Linkin fricking Park) Or rundowns of the "40 Greatest uses of hair-gel in a boy-rock band" type of things.

I agree with you. The music is there it just isn't as widely known....maybe it's because the stuff I'm into has never been popular really
medusa Posted March 16, 2008 Posted March 16, 2008 The issue that I have with both Scuzz and Kerrang is that they have such a small playlist. If you leave them on for a while they repeat with monotonous regularity, rather than playing even a small part of the breadth of the rock music spectrum that could be available to them.
