Truly Mobile Broadband

Have gone mobile broadband via the Vodaphone Dongle USB into my laptop. I've had it for 2 weeks and it's been superb.

It was dead easy to set up, and it actually "does what it says on the tin".

I've tried it in several different locations and it's come up trumps every time. I'm going down to Skeggy next weekend so I will post on it's usefulness over there, but so far I am totally converted.

I was on AOL dial-up before, so for the extra 1p per month it's costing - it's 35 times faster than dial-up "I recommend it to the house"

hiya davep, I have been eyeing up one of those, is it really that easy to set up and do you have trouble geting online? how much if you dont mind me being nosey and what sort of contract do you have to sign up to?

T-Mobile currently have an awesome offer of 15per month flat fee for 24 months. no limits. thats all you ever pay. i am so very tempted....

I signed up for 18 months, so the dongle is free. If you sign for less then you have to pay for the dongle. I signed for 3 gbyte/month which is £15.

It comes in a box with a set-up CD, but you only need the CD if your computer is a Mac, otherwise it self-loads the software required when you plug the dongle in the first time.

It took less than 5 mins, and I was on the net.

It was so simple even I could do it !!!!!

Joe, I did consider TMobile, but when they did a postcode check for Ingoldmells (where my caravan is), they weren't showing a signal. Vodaphone and 3 both show OK out there but 3 was a bit iffy at home, so by a process of elimination, it was Vodaphone for me.

yes they do. you never pay by the minute. 3g is priced per MB or more commonly these days per GB

i an really taken by the idea but cant justify the expense. just found out that with my Orange contract i have 3g access at £1.50 per day is use it no matter how much i use it within that day. score :D

I used the 3 pay-as-you-go one last month, it came with a rented apartment in London. I wasn't impressed as it was slow and sometimes wouldn't connect.

I would be interested in the Vodaphone one or any other that is truly broadband.
