Okey Dokey - now then, you know i'm not into that celia imrie / trevor howard (?) guff - so how's about Baraka or The Great Escape. Love Story? It's A Wonderful Life perhaps?

Hope this answer is more helpful.

What about showing the same film that was shown the night it closed - Breakout, starring Charles Bronson, Randy Quaid, Robert Duvall, and Jill Ireland. But can we have the heating working this time around, and a screen without patches in it.

Amelie for my choice.

Mine too, amazing, gorgeous film. However as the last film I saw at the Abbeydale (before it closed, circa 1970) was Romeo and Juliet with the sound of the no 24 bus pulling away as Olivia Hussey as Juliet died, I should vote for that too!

Now I'm imagining Celia Imrie and Trevor Philips! Not quite the effect Noel Coward envisioned. :hihi:

Maybe it should run as a singles' night, and each lady gets a free piece of grit with her ticket.

I think it would make a brilliant place for some luxury flats for luxury people. Perhaps you could show This is Sheffield with live sets from some of the people involved ( comsat angels for instance) or Threads.

Classic Bond, such as Goldfinger, will do the trick - it sold out when we had it at Cineworld last year (179 seats - sold out the day before it screened and plenty of people turned up unable to get in too)
