chitty chitty bang bang. old car restored to her former glory plus much more. OH has it on 16mm if you want to borrow it

 

 

Wow I bet that would be fun for the projectionists. The ones I have known don't like 16mm at the best of times but that film is about three hours long isnt it?! I would love to see that on a big screen though!

You would have to have a 16mm projector too. Usually cinema projectors are 35mm.

I saw The Smallest Show on Earth there, first time round.

Could be a story about Abbeydale picture palace itself now.

I'd also advocate The Third Man--it's set just right after the war and its sombre mood would suit the atmosphere

That was on at the Showroom last week, there's a whole Bette Davies series at the moment (shame it'll be too late to tie in with this).

 

I just watched 'All About Eve' last night for the first time - loved it!

'Fasten your seatbelts - it's gonna be a bumpy night!'

I will Purdyamos, I will indeed. We just want to put on a great night for a great cause, so I hope you and your film-buff mate, and all those who've replied, will bring a mate and have a great time. I'll put more details on when I have them.
