colaroid Posted March 14, 2008 Posted March 14, 2008 Anyone know the cheapest way to get to new zealand? The cheapest Airline, late booking, early booking etc
Quagmire Posted March 14, 2008 Posted March 14, 2008 I've got a return flight booked with Air New Zealand for next month. That cost me 750 quid. However, Emirates (best airline I've flown with) often do a good deal for 650 - you just need to book like 3 or 4 months in advance. Check the offers page on their website. I missed it by a week!
callippo Posted March 14, 2008 Posted March 14, 2008 Emirates are indeed a good bet. Most of the Middle Eastern airlines are pretty good in fact. Another classy airline is Singapore, also Malaysian Airlines are excellent, and likely to be cheaper than Singapore, though sadly MAS have now axed their Manchester/Kuala Lumpur flight. Thai have gotten more expensive recently. each of these major SE Asian airlines fly to all the big five Australian cities and Auckland. MAS definitely have a direct Auckland flight because I know someone who took it once. Sometimes, they might stop off briefly in Sydney or Melbourne. when I went to New Zealand, I went the long way, via the US and San Francisco/LA, with United, but they were giving the flight away. I got to Australia with stopovers in the US and NZ, and back, for less than £500. the low price might have had something to do with two of the 9/11 aircraft being United planes and it being only a month afterwards, they were giving the flights away.
