swordfish1 Posted March 13, 2008 Posted March 13, 2008 I received two cards from Parcelforce last week mon the same day. One saying that a parcel was left next door, the other saying that they were unable to leave a parcel as it needed to be signed for. I phoned the automated (grrr) number, and it told me to collect it from the local depot. Today I went to it and they informed me that they had no parcel and it was an error by the delivery driver. 30 mile round trip and an hour and a half wasted. They have plain flatly refused to give me anything for time and petrol, and effectively told me it's "tough luck". It's not the money to be honest, it's the time and the fact that lately I've been messed around by so many people who can't do their job properly. Is there any way I could get anything back for this, through the small claims or whatever? I'd actually give the cash to charity, I just wish they'd have to make amends for their shoddy service.

swordfish1 Posted March 13, 2008 Author Posted March 13, 2008 so where WAS your parcel???? I was expecting a few parcels, but had no idea from which delivery companies. The two cards were for the same parcel apparently. Or so they say. Problem being that one card said a parcel was left next door, the other saying they couldn't deliver it because it needed a signature. The automated line told me to collect the parcel from the local depot, so that is what I tried to do today.
swordfish1 Posted March 14, 2008 Author Posted March 14, 2008 You could try contacting Postwatch, to see if they can help. Parcelforce are unlicensed by the industry regulator, and Postwatch will only deal with licensed operators. Also Parcelforce will only deal with complaints from the sender, and have ABSOLUTELY no methods in place for a complaint by the receiver of a parcel.
ASPGuru Posted March 14, 2008 Posted March 14, 2008 When this has happened to me there was a simple reason. Card 1 'unable to leave as no-one available to sign' was popped through the door. Card 2 'left with neighbour' then got posted because just as the delivery guy was leaving the neighbours arrived home, so left parcel with them. Would have been nice if Card 2 had an 'ignore Card 1' message on, but perhaps the guy was busy and didn't think. Are you actually missing any parcels?
swordfish1 Posted March 14, 2008 Author Posted March 14, 2008 No idea yet. They say they've got nothing on the system for me. They also said I'd had nothing delivered by them for a month, which was strange as the tshirt I was wearing when they told me was delivered by Parcelforce (should that be ParcelfArce) the week before. My ex works for a medical supplies company. They stopped using Parcelfarce because they were spending all their time dealing with complaints due to non delivery. Customer care is nil. Oh, and as to the reason for the mistake, it may be the same as yours, but they didn't seem to care about the time and money I'd wasted. That's my main problem. If they'd been in the least bit apologetic, I'd have let it lie (in the words of Vic and Bob). And relax....
