DaFoot Posted March 13, 2008 Posted March 13, 2008 Someone is trying to push a motion into discussion in parliament to get Police/PCSOs given consistent information on public photography. Obviously to get anyway in parliament (including even getting a mention) a motion needs backing from MPs (signatures). Read the motion below and if you like the sound of its aims, tell your area MP.... just maybe they'll sign up to it too. This isn't (as I read it) about changing any law, just trying to encourage information being spread to the guys on the beat so everyone knows what is and isn't currently allowed. http://forums.dpreview.com/forums/readflat.asp?forum=1014&thread=27149223
ImpInaBox Posted March 13, 2008 Posted March 13, 2008 Well spotted DaFoot - I've just written to Clive Betts to encourage him to support it.
hockeybear Posted March 13, 2008 Posted March 13, 2008 yep, well spotted Dafoot, I've sent my e-mail to David Blunkett
DaFoot Posted March 26, 2008 Author Posted March 26, 2008 Finally got round to this, apparently my MP is David Blunkett. Learn something new everyday. I don't follow politics closely but I am aware he has/does held/hold some significant office so would be a good signature to get on board if we can

ImpInaBox Posted March 26, 2008 Posted March 26, 2008 I had a reply from Clive Betts the other day. He says that as a keen 'but not very good' amateur photographer he will sign the motion.
Hook Posted March 26, 2008 Posted March 26, 2008 I have no idea who my MP is now I've moved. But I'll get onto them ASAP, and if they're labour I'll push the 'I'm a fully paid up member of the Labour Party' line.

Hook Posted March 26, 2008 Posted March 26, 2008 And I thought you were such a nice boy! I used to be... and then I saw red ^_^
DaFoot Posted March 27, 2008 Author Posted March 27, 2008 ... there are lots of early day motions and he doesn't sign them. Perhaps if enough people pester him about one....
